What`s the function of marigold oleoresin?

- Oct 17, 2019-

Marigold oleoresin has strong anti-oxidation effect. And it can inhibit the activity of reactive oxygen free radicals, and prevent the damage of reactive oxygen species to normal cells.Experiments have shown that reactive oxygen species can react with DNA, proteins, and lipids, weaken their physiological functions, and trigger chronic diseases such as cancer, arteriosclerosis, and macular degeneration. Marigold oleoresincan inactivate singlet oxygen by physical or chemical quenching, thereby protecting the body from damage and enhancing the body's immunity.

Marigold oleoresin

Marigold oleoresin is bright yellow. It is insoluble in water, soluble in oil and alcohol, strong in coloring power. It has the characteristics of resistance in light, heat, acid andalkali. It can be widely used in the coloring of cakes, sweets, spices, pickles and feeds. It can also be used for the coloring of health products, sugar coatings and capsules.China has used it as a natural colorant in feed additives. Some countries in Europe and America have also listed marigold oleoresin as a food coloring agent, giving food a beautiful golden yellow color.

Recent studies have shown that lutein extract has a delayed effect on early arteriosclerosis. Mainly relationship is between the change of the intima thickness of the main artery and the content of marigold oleoresin in the blood. The content of marigold oleoresin in the blood is low, which is easy to cause thickening of the arterial wall. With the gradual increase of oleoresin, the tendency of arterial wall thickening is reduced, and arterial embolization is also significantly reduced. At the same time, marigold oleoresin in arterial wall cells can also reduce the oxidative properties of LDL cholesterol.

A number of studies have shown that marigold oleoresinhas inhibitory effects on a variety of cancers, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, rectal cancer, and skin cancer.According to a recent study by the New York University School of Pharmacy, there is a close relationship between the incidence of breast cancer reduction and the intake of oleoresin. The incidence of breast cancer in the experimental group with low intake of lutein extract is 2.08~2.21 times higher than the experimental group with high intake. This effect may involve indirect immunomodulatory effects in concert with other organ tissues. The study concluded that the intake of lutein extract in the diet not only inhibits the tumor, but also prevents tumorigenesis. Relevant agencies recommend that 400-600g of fruits and vegetables per person per day can reduce the relative risk of cancer by 50%.
