According to the Australian Food Standards Agency (FSANZ), on February 15th, the Australian Food Standards Agency issued the Food Standards Notice 02-15, which approved Rebaudioside M as a sweetener for food.
The main contents of the announcement No. 02-15 are as follows：
A1108 - Application of Rebaudioside M as a high-sweet sweetener for stevia for food; revised P1036 proposal; approval of M1010 - Maximum Residue Limit (2014) standard; rejection of A1039-LowTHCHemp as food application; and other matters.
On May 21, the US FDA issued final regulations to amend the Food Additives Regulations, approving the high-sweet sweetener advantame as a non-nutritive sweetener and flavor enhancer for foods other than meat and poultry, and developed saccharin Specifications.
On May 15, the European Union issued Regulation (EU) No 497/2014, amending the regulations on the use of Advantame as a sweetener in the Annex (EC) No 1333/2008 and (EU) No 231/2012 on food additives. This regulation is effective as of the date of promulgation.
High-intensity sweeteners are characterized by high safety, low dosage and high sweetness. At present, in the world food additive market, the sweetener occupancy rate is about 20%.
